Ballantine’s Whisky is a brand wholly committed to its well-established values, still using the same methods pioneered by founder and master blender George Ballantine in 1827. Blending was a way of life for George Ballantine, who had started out experimenting with tea as a child before moving on to malts later.
To stand-out from the competition, it was key for the brand that it didn’t stray from its rich heritage – they wanted the brand story to be encapsulated in a contemporary airport activation campaign.
To activate the brand in a crowded travel retail market, we did our own blending – using a combination of holographic imagery, showcasing the brand’s values, hardware and animation to create a thirty-second three-dimensional film to bring the brand story to life.
The animation interacted with the iconic bottle design, which was housed in a freestanding pyramid unit.
The concept not only looked great but achieved outstanding results and was rolled out around the world – leaving a real, long-standing impression and giving Ballatine’s an activation that stayed true to its values.
